This weekend Ulrik Saxhøj and myself went to Kullen, (Sweden) where we worked as Chief Range Officers, shot the match and spent some time in Kullen.

The shooting area was very green, with a really nice feel about it. The stages were well built and nicely thought about, (there were some small issues) but it was their first IPSC Match in Kullen. (The experience from Leif Madsen, Faj Tran and Andreas Göthager was a great asset for the match)...

All of the shooters from Kullen Shooting Club were very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.

After the prematch, Ulrik and I went to the beach and into the sea and then just sat there chilling, with the warm rays of sun hitting us. Then it was back for a quick shower and a very cosy meal at the harbour until the sun went down.....  very nice.

Match day...

My stage was Stage 1. A long course with a minimum of 30 rounds and a maximum of 150 Points, which consisted of 12 Plates, 2 Mini Poppers, 8 IPSC Targets and some no shoot targets. One target was a swinger, which was activated by either Popper .  The stage was spread over a large area, with various apertures to shoot some targets from.

Ulrik’s stage was Stage 5. A short course with a minimum of 9 rounds and a maximum of 45 Points, which consisted of 4 IPSC Targets, 1 Mini Poppers and 2 No Shoot Targets. The Popper activated a swinger and the start position was riding a cycle.

It was good to see some really good shooters such as Ralf K. Jensen and Even Skaarer shoot my stage, (as well as various others) but I really enjoyed seeing Jan Bode’ and Claus Stahnke shoot my stage as they also shot well too.

The weather was fantastic, the food was nice and the atmosphere was friendly. The match ran without any problems.

All in all it was a nice weekend and I will be happy to go back there next year.

Mark.
